I was born and raised in the province of Venice, not exactly in an alpine or climbing environment. As a child, with my parents and uncles, we would go to the mountains for short via ferratas and hikes, but nothing more than that.

Before getting into climbing around the age of twenty, in my free time, besides playing basketball, I increasingly felt the desire, or maybe the need, to put myself in “adventure” situations.

By that I mean finding myself in unpredictable scenarios, where you have to make choices, even simple ones, that can change the course of events, in short, mountaineering.

At that time, it could mean choosing one path over another in the mountains, or traveling without a fixed destination and just going with whatever happened.

After a year spent in Australia, partly out of curiosity but mainly hoping to understand how the mountains worked beyond trails and via ferratas, I got into sport climbing at a gym near my hometown.

From that moment on, it has been, and still is, a continuous discovery and an ongoing evolution in the way I like to experience the mountains, trying to balance it all with my current job as an IT consultant in the field of Business Intelligence.

I truly love climbing in all its forms, from bouldering to big winter walls. It is amazing to use these disciplines as a way to discover new places, sometimes remote or rarely visited, meet different cultures, and try to follow imaginary lines that have never been climbed before, lines that take shape first in dreams and nightmares.

All of this without ever forgetting to have fun and challenge myself.
